Andy Lee Reaches 1,000 Career Wins
NICEVILLE, Fla. — Northwest Florida State softball head coach Andy Lee added another milestone to his decorated career on Saturday, earning his 1,000th career victory in a 17-1 win over Tallahassee State.
With the achievement, Lee becomes just the sixth active head coach to reach the 1,000-win mark, the 14th in NJCAA history, and the 37th across all collegiate levels (NCAA and NJCAA combined) to join the exclusive club.
Lee's path to 1,000 wins has been defined by sustained excellence across multiple programs. He began his head coaching career in 2006 at Hinds College, where he recorded 93 wins over three seasons. He then moved to LSU Eunice in 2009, where he established himself as one of the premier coaches in junior college softball. Over 11 seasons, Lee compiled 581 victories and captured six NJCAA Division II National Championships, building a powerhouse program.
Since taking over at Northwest Florida State in 2020, Lee has continued that success, adding more than 300 wins while elevating the Raiders into national prominence. His tenure has included three consecutive 50-win seasons, three straight Panhandle Conference Championships, the program's first national championship appearance in 2023, and a Final Four finish in 2024.
The pinnacle came in 2025, when Lee guided Northwest Florida to its first NJCAA National Championship—his seventh overall—while setting a program record with a 61-4 season.
As the regular season winds down and the Raiders have already secured a postseason berth, Lee and his team now turn their focus to the upcoming FCSAA Softball Championships in Clearwater, Fla., May 12–16, with their sights set on a fourth consecutive trip to the NJCAA Softball World Series.
With 1,000 wins and counting, Lee's legacy is firmly cemented among the all-time greats in collegiate softball.
