Raiders Take Down Louisburg and Lincoln Trail Saturday

NICEVILLE, Fla. — Northwest Florida State softball capped off a strong Saturday with a pair of convincing victories, defeating Louisburg College 11–3 before blanking Lincoln Trail 9–0 at home.

Game One: Northwest Florida 11, Louisburg 3

A seven-run third inning powered Northwest Florida past Louisburg College in the opener. Karson McGowan jump-started the outburst with a two-run homer to left field, while Bre Hughes added a two-run double. Haley Hughes chipped in an RBI single, Jaci Gary doubled home a run, and an error brought in another as the Raiders broke the game open.

Northwest Florida struck first in the second inning, taking advantage of a passed ball to get on the board. Louisburg briefly answered in the top of the third, using a Boone home run to tie the game at three, but the Raiders responded immediately with their decisive rally.

Isabelle Warrick earned the win in relief, tossing 2.2 hitless innings while allowing no runs. Marlee Parsons started the game and allowed three runs on four hits over 2.1 innings, striking out five.

Bre Hughes led the Raiders offensively, going 2-for-2 from the leadoff spot. Anna Grace Griggs drew two walks as Northwest Florida showed discipline at the plate, finishing with six walks. The Raiders were aggressive on the basepaths, piling up 11 stolen bases, with Hughes, Julie Stevens, and Griggs each swiping multiple bags.

Game Two: Northwest Florida 9, Lincoln Trail 0

The Raiders carried the momentum into game two, scoring early and often in a 9–0 shutout of Lincoln Trail.

Northwest Florida plated two runs in the first inning behind an RBI double from Gary and an RBI single by McGowan. The lead grew in the second as Hailey Henry tripled home a run and Griggs drove in another with a groundout. Two more runs crossed in the third, highlighted by a solo home run from Falyn Beebe and an RBI double from Allison Farnsworth, pushing the advantage to 6–0.

Mallory Baker was sharp in the circle, allowing just one hit over three scoreless innings to earn the start. Savannah Carter followed with two shutout innings in relief to complete the combined shutout.

Gary anchored the middle of the lineup, driving in three runs while going 2-for-3. Henry and Beebe also finished with two hits apiece. Northwest Florida showed patience once again, drawing four walks, and played error-free defense to close out the day.
