Schedule Heats Up as Raiders Gear Up for Six-Game Weekend

 

NICEVILLE, Fla. — Top-ranked Northwest Florida State softball returns to action this weekend, embarking on a demanding six-game stretch that features four games in Panama City on Friday and Saturday, followed by a pair of home contests on Sunday.

The Raiders are off to another scorching start, opening the season 8–0 after a perfect 4–0 showing last week in Youngsville, La. Northwest Florida will look to carry that momentum forward as the schedule ramps up with 30 games over the next 30 days.

Who, When, Where

Northwest Florida opens the weekend at the Visit PCB Showdown in Panama City, where the Raiders will play doubleheaders on both Friday and Saturday at the Publix Sports Complex. Friday's slate includes matchups against Patrick & Henry and St. Johns River, followed by Saturday games against John A. Logan and Roane State.

The action continues Sunday as the Raiders return home for a round-robin event, hosting Lakeland in the morning before facing Andrew later in the afternoon.

Last Week

Northwest Florida was dominant in all phases last week, outscoring opponents 44–12 across four games in Louisiana. The Raiders opened the week with a 13–4 win over Mississippi Gulf Coast, followed by a 14–5 victory against LSU Eunice. Saturday saw Northwest Florida cruise past Pearl River, 10–2, before closing the weekend with a 7–1 win over East Central.

Nyla Treptau led the offense with seven hits, recording three multi-hit performances, including a perfect 3-for-3 outing in the opener against Mississippi Gulf Coast. Falyn Beebe drove in seven runs on five hits, highlighted by a home run and a triple. Julie Stevens also delivered a strong week, producing six RBIs on two hits, including a grand slam in the opening game.

In the circle, four pitchers saw action for the Raiders, with Marlee Parsons leading the way. Parsons logged 11.0 innings across two appearances, allowing just three earned runs on four hits while striking out five, earning FCSAA Softball Pitcher of the Week honors. Isabelle Warrick followed with 7.2 innings, surrendering two earned runs on eight hits with five strikeouts.

Additional Notes

• Northwest Florida is off to its fourth consecutive 8–0 start. The program record for best start remains 20–0, set in 2024.
• The Raiders are lighting up the NJCAA leaderboards, ranking top 20 in 14 statistical categories and top 10 in 11 of them, including runs (6th, 66), hits (7th, 71), doubles (3rd, 16), RBIs (8th, 54), extra base hits (5th, 23), total bases (6th, 106), walks (9th, 27), stolen bases (2nd, 25), pitching shutouts (2nd, 2), and batting average against (10th, .214).
Haley Hughes and Nyla Treptau have been on-base machines early in the season. Treptau leads the team with a .632 on-base percentage, while Hughes sits at .538 and ranks sixth nationally in walks. Both are tied for the team lead with eight hits apiece.
Marlee Parsons leads the Raiders in innings pitched (20.2) and ERA (1.01), allowing just three runs with 15 strikeouts in four appearances.
• Northwest Florida enters a grueling stretch, set to play 30 games in 30 days, including eight over the next five days. Of those 30 contests, 24 will be played at home.
