Four Raiders Earn All-Panhandle Conference Honors
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The FCSAA announced the 2025–26 Panhandle and Citrus All-Conference teams on Friday morning, with four Northwest Florida State players earning recognition on the All-Panhandle Conference First and Second Teams.
DJ Shine, Braylon Roman, and Jonas Nichols were all named First Team All-Panhandle Conference, while Justin Burns earned Second Team honors. Roman and Burns are both repeat selections, with Roman earning Second Team recognition last season and Burns previously being named to the First Team.
Despite missing nearly half the season due to injury, Shine made an immediate impact whenever he took the floor, finishing the year as the Raiders' leading scorer. The sophomore averaged 16.1 points per game while shooting 43.2 percent from the field and 47.6 percent from three-point range in eight conference games. He recorded three 20-point performances in conference play, including a career-high 25 points at Gulf Coast on January 21.
Roman provided steady production throughout conference play, averaging 11.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.4 steals across 12 games. One of his most complete performances came last week against Chipola, when he totaled nine points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and a steal in a Raiders victory.
Nichols also emerged as a consistent scoring threat, averaging 13.8 points per game while shooting 47.5 percent from the field, including 51 percent from three-point range. He recorded multiple 20-point games during conference play, highlighted by a career-high 25-point performance against Gulf Coast on February 11.
Burns anchored the Raiders in the frontcourt, averaging 10.6 points per game on 52 percent shooting along with a team-best nine rebounds per game, while also contributing 1.3 steals and 1.1 blocks across 12 conference contests. He posted several double-digit rebounding performances and multiple double-doubles, including a three-game stretch in which he averaged 12.6 points and 14 rebounds per game.
