Raiders Run-Rule Coastal Alabama Wednesday 10-0
NICEVILLE, Fla. — Northwest Florida State baseball earned another run-rule victory Wednesday, shutting out the Coastal Alabama-South 10–0 in five innings.
The Raiders jumped out early in the bottom of the first. A passed ball moved runners into scoring position before Brock Clayton lined a single to center to plate the game's first run. Moments later, Kaden Linares followed with a two-run single to left, pushing the lead to 3–0.
Northwest Florida added to the advantage in the third as Hunter Tarchalski ripped a two-run double to center, scoring Clayton and Tristan King to make it 5–0. The Raiders kept the pressure on in the fourth, capitalizing on another passed ball and a hit-by-pitch to extend the lead to 7–0.
The game was sealed in the bottom of the seventh when CJ Murphy launched a three-run homer to right field, scoring Tarchalski and Linares and enforcing the run rule at 10–0.
On the mound, Eli Jones set the tone, allowing three hits and no runs over 5.2 innings while striking out three and walking two. KJ Hart was sharp in relief, tossing 1.1 scoreless innings with one strikeout and one walk.
Offensively, Northwest Florida finished with 10 hits. Linares, King, and Sam Bradley each recorded two hits, while Murphy led the Raiders with three RBIs despite going 1-for-1 at the plate.
With the win, Northwest Florida improves to 12–5 on the season and secures its second straight home victory. The Raiders return to the NWF Baseball Complex on Friday for a doubleheader against Mississippi Gulf Coast before closing out the weekend on the road Saturday at Enterprise State.
