Bradley Sparks Rally Leading NWF to Comeback Win Over Shelton State

 

NICEVILLE, Fla. Northwest Florida State baseball once again showed resilience, coming back from a 4-run deficit in an offensive battle.

The Raiders struck first in the second inning when Sam Bradley singled to right field, followed by a single from Nathan Nance that gave the Raiders an early 3-0 lead. In the top of the fourth, the Bucs responded with a pair of singles to score their first run of the game, followed by a fielder's choice that brought the game within one run. The Bucs offense would flip the script in the top of the fifth, scoring five runs on three hits to take a 7-3 lead.

NWF responded in the bottom half of the inning; a pair of walks would start the rally for the Raiders as Orlando Fernandez grounded into fielder's choice, bringing home Angel Santiago from third and would reach safely on an error. The next two batters reached safely to load the bases for Sam Bradley who would triple and tie the game. That would bring up Tristan Bittle who legged out an infield single to bring home Bradley and take the lead. The Raiders offense wasn't done yet; Nathan Nance reached on ball hit back to the pitcher, bringing Santiago to the plate where he would launch a ball to deep right field for a stand-up triple, extending the lead 10-7.

The Raiders extended the lead in the next two innings when Kayden Linares singled the sixth to extend the lead 11-7. In the seventh Brock Clayton drew a bases loaded walk to make it 12-7

Aiden Torrez and Bradley Garrett shut down the Bucs in the fifth inning. Torrez picked up the win, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out three. Garrett was also lights out allowing just one hit in one and two thirds' innings.

The Raiders finished with 11 hits, led by Sam Bradley who had 3 hits and drove in fourLinares and Nance each added two hits, while Santiago and Nance each drove in 2 runs.
