Peeples Shines in Win over Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – No. 10 Northwest Florida women's basketball used an efficient offensive attack to down Tallahassee, 66-53, on the road Wednesday.

Rayven Peeples shot 7-for-11 from the field to finish with a game-high 21 points. Chanaya Pinto turned in her fifth double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Laura Taylor knocked down four 3-pointers to contribute 13 points in the winning effort.

The Raiders (19-4, 4-3 PC) shot 42.9 percent (24-56) as a team and tallied seven treys. NWF outscored Tallahassee 26-16 in the paint and 20-3 off the bench.

Polina Nikulochkina led the Eagles with 17 points. Sedayjha Payne had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Northwest Florida will take the weekend off before returning to action Feb. 5 against Pensacola in Raider Arena. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
