NICEVILLE, Fla. – Sophomore forward Rayven Peeples has been named NJCAA Region 8 Player of the Week, the Florida College System Activities Association announced Tuesday.
The Detroit native averaged 16.0 points, 2.0 steals, and 3.5 blocks in two games last week. Peeples shot 82.4 percent (14-of-17) from the field in Northwest Florida's wins over Georgia Highlands and Walters State.
In the Raiders victory over Georgia Highlands, Peeples was 7-of-8 shooting and hauled in five rebounds. Against Walters State, she scored a game-high 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting with seven rebounds and five blocks.
On the season, Peeples is averaging 11.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per contest.
Northwest Florida returns to action on Friday and Saturday as the team takes part in the JuCo Shootout in Raider Arena. The Raiders play Indian River at 4 p.m. on Friday and Palm Beach State at 2 p.m. Saturday.
