NICEVILLE, Fla. – Northwest Florida fell to Gulf Coast, 85-82, in double overtime in Raider Arena Saturday to open Panhandle Conference play.
Cameron Golden turned in an All-American performance for Gulf Coast (13-3, 1-0 PC) with 41 points on 16-of-31 shooting to go along with 17 rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
Despite shooting 48.4 percent from the floor for the game, Northwest Florida couldn't shake the turnover bug handing the ball over 29 times. Gulf Coast dominated the paint outscoring the Raiders 54-30 from close range.
Northwest Florida returns to action Jan. 8 as the team travels to face Chipola.
