Slow Start Costs Raiders in Loss

PENSACOLA, Fla. – A slow start offensively cost No. 18 Northwest Florida in an 80-50 loss to Odessa College in the Pensacola Thanksgiving Classic on Tuesday.

The Raiders (7-3) shot 33.3 percent in the first half and finished the game 19-52 (36.5 percent), while Odessa had a hot hand from opening tip to the closing horn converting 49.1 percent of its shots for the game.

Tutu Chisholm was the lone Raider in double figures with 13 points and was a perfect 6-for-6 from the field. Seth Millner finished with six points and seven rebounds.

Northwest Florida fell behind by 37 early in the second half and couldn't cool the hot-shooting Wranglers.

Tavon Jones scored 26 points for Odessa (7-5). Tauriawn Knight had 17 and Joe Kasperzyk chipped in with 13.
