NWF Announces 2019-20 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Schedules

NICEVILLE, Fla. – Northwest Florida State released its 2019-20 men's and women's basketball schedules on Thursday featuring 25 combined home events in addition to the FCSAA State Tournament.

Men's hoops opens its slate with a three-game homestand beginning with FSC Jacksonville on Nov. 1. The Raiders then take on Roane State (Nov. 8) and Coastal Alabama – North (Nov. 9) as part of the NWF Classic.

The women's team opens in Texas participating in the Tyler Classic Nov. 8-9. The Raiders return to Raider Arena to square off against USC Salk and Denmark Tech in the NWF Classic Nov. 15 and Nov. 16, respectively. NWF hosts two more tournaments featuring games against Indian River (Dec. 6), Palm Beach (Dec. 7), Pearl River (Dec. 12) and Eastern Florida (Dec. 13).

The Raiders kick off Panhandle Conference play at home against rival Gulf Coast State on Jan. 4. In the regular season's penultimate contest, a matchup against Tallahassee rounds out the home schedule on Feb. 15 heading into the FCSAA State Tournament March 4-7.

The men finished last season 28-5 and 10-2 in Panhandle Conference action, tops in the league. The team won the FCSAA State Tournament for the second straight season and advanced to the NJCAA National Tournament before falling in the Elite Eight.

The women posted a 26-6 mark and won the Panhandle Conference regular season crown. The Raiders advanced to Elite Eight for the second consecutive season. In its three games in the tournament, NWF allowed just 53.7 points per game.
