Matt Miller enters his second season at NWF. During his first season with the Raiders, the 2017 NWF pitching staff boasted a team ERA of 3.91 and all sophomore pitchers moved on to Division 1 schools. Miller also coached RHP Cam Sanders, who was selected in the 18th round of the 2017 MLB Draft (Padres).
He made his coaching debut during the 2015-16 season at Auburn University at Montgomery as their pitching coach. While coaching at AUM, Miller and the Warhawks went 46-17 and made an appearance in the 2016 NAIA World Series. While at AUM, Miller helped them achieve a team ERA of 3.95 and he also coached All-American and 2016 15th round pick for the Chicago Cubs, Jed Carter.
A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Miller was a 2011 graduate of Sandalwood High School where he set the school record with 36 wins on the mound. He then played for Gulf Coast State College as a dual player, pitcher and outfielder. After his time at Gulf Coast, he moved on to Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, Georgia where he was the SSAC Newcomer of the Year and helped lead the Hornets to an NAIA World Series appearance. Miller then transferred to AUM for his senior season and was an All-Conference selection and saw the Warhawks to a top 10 national ranking.
Miller graduated from AUM in 2015 with his Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Studies.
