NWF Baseball Set to Host Motlow, San Jacinto

NICEVILLE, Fla.  – Northwest Florida baseball opens its 2020 home slate against Motlow State and San Jacinto at the Raider Baseball Complex.

The ninth-ranked Raiders (2-1) take on Motlow at 11 a.m. where Dr. Devin Stephenson, President of Northwest Florida State College, is scheduled to throw out the first pitch. NWF then plays San Jacinto at 5 p.m. Motlow and San Jacinto square off at 2 p.m. The Raiders will play a doubleheader against Motlow State Saturday beginning at 12 p.m.

Northwest Florida defeated St. Petersburg and Miami Dade over opening weekend before falling to South Florida. Sophomore Brandon Riera finished the weekend 5-for-6 from the plate with a home run, while Nic Nolan was 5-of-12 with a pair of doubles.

On the hill, Beck Way was solid in his start with seven strikeouts over four innings. Dylan DeLucia and Jacob Kush each pitched four scoreless innings in relief.
