Raiders split double-header with Gulf Coast

GAME 1 RECAP:

Both teams were strong on the mound on Saturday, but Gulf Coast was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over Northwest Florida State College Raiders Varsity on Saturday. Christian Camacho started the game for Northwest Florida State College Raiders Varsity and recorded 18 outs.

One bright spot for Northwest Florida State College Raiders Varsity was a single by Jake Randa in the first inning.

Brett Wisely led things off on the hill for Gulf Coast. He surrendered zero runs on four hits over seven innings, striking out three and walking one.

Camacho led things off on the hill for Northwest Florida State College Raiders Varsity. He allowed seven hits and one run over six innings, striking out six and walking zero.

Kyle Fitzgerald led Northwest Florida State College Raiders Varsity with two hits in three at bats. Northwest Florida State College Raiders Varsity was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Cole Halfacre made the most plays with seven.

Gulf Coast totaled seven hits. Jacquez Koonce and Wisely all collected multiple hits for Gulf Coast.

GAME 2 RECAP:

Cason Greathouse didn't allow a single run as Northwest Florida State College Raiders Varsity defeated Gulf Coast 2-0 on Saturday. Greathouse allowed just seven hits.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Greathouse struck out four, while Alec Aleywine sat down five.

Northwest Florida State College Raiders Varsity got on the board in the first inning. Kyle Fitzgerald singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Miguel Cienfuegos, Thomas Broyles, Fitzgerald, and Kaden Polcovich each collected one hit to lead Northwest Florida State College Raiders Varsity. Northwest Florida State College Raiders Varsity was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Nathan Vetter made the most plays with five.

Gulf Coast totaled seven hits. Koonce and Malik Spratling all had multiple hits for Gulf Coast.
