NWF nabs win over Motlow State despite early 3-run inning

Northwest Florida State College Raiders Varsity weathered a scare by Motlow State in the second inning where Northwest Florida State College Raiders Varsity coughed up three runs, but Northwest Florida State College Raiders Varsity still won 10-4 on Saturday. Motlow State big bats were led by De'Andre Pitts and Patrick Music, who each had RBIs in the inning.

In the first inning, Motlow State got their offense started. Paul McIntosh hit a solo homer.

After Motlow State scored three runs in the top of the second, Northwest Florida State College Raiders Varsity answered with three of their own. Motlow State scored when Pitts doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs and Conor Angel induced Music to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. Northwest Florida State College Raiders Varsity then answered when Leo Horacio singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Kyle Fitzgerald doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run, and Cole Halfacre singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Northwest Florida State College Raiders Varsity pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Miguel Cienfuegos tripled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run and Jake Randa's sac fly scored one run for Northwest Florida State College Raiders Varsity.

Northwest Florida State College Raiders Varsity notched five runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught by Northwest Florida State College Raiders Varsity was led by Randa, Halfacre, and Lee Musgraves, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Conor Angel was on the mound for Northwest Florida State College Raiders Varsity. He surrendered four runs on three hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out two.

Jase Carvell started the game for Motlow State. He allowed four hits and three runs over two innings, striking out three. Dallas Bryan and Justin Parker entered the game from the bullpen, throwing three innings and one inning respectively.

Northwest Florida State College Raiders Varsity tallied nine hits in the game. Fitzgerald, Cienfuegos, and Randa all managed multiple hits for Northwest Florida State College Raiders Varsity. Randa, Cienfuegos, and Fitzgerald each managed two hits to lead Northwest Florida State College Raiders Varsity. Northwest Florida State College Raiders Varsity was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Fitzgerald made the most plays with eight.
