Grant Stewart didn't allow a single run as Northwest Florida State College Raiders defeated East Mississippi Community College 4-0 on Saturday. Stewart allowed just four hits.
The Raiders got things moving in the first inning, when Jake Randa singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
One bright spot for East Mississippi was a single by Matt Inlow in the second inning.
Stewart got the start for Northwest Florida. He surrendered zero runs on four hits over seven innings, striking out 13 and walking zero.
Franky Hefflinger started the game for East Mississippi. He surrendered three runs on three hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two. Luke Templeton and Peyton Warren entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two and two-thirds innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.
NWF State had seven hits in the game. Kaden Polcovich and Randa all managed multiple hits for the Raiders. Polcovich led Northwest Florida with three hits in three at bats.
Northwest Florida was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Cole Halfacre had the most chances in the field with 13.
