Northwest Florida Suspends All Athletic Competition

NICEVILLE, Fla. – In conjunction with an FCSAA recommendation, Northwest Florida will suspend all spring competition until March 28.

"These steps are in line with other athletic associations across the country," Northwest Florida Athletic Director Ramsey Ross said.

"We are looking forward to resuming our springs sports next month. As of now, the main focus is to keep our student-athletes safe and healthy. I'd like to commend our student-athletes for handling this adverse situation in such a classy and professional manner."

Earlier in the day, the NJCAA Men's and Women's National Championships were postponed with a tentative start date of Monday, April 20.

Northwest Florida women's basketball was scheduled to depart for Lubbock, Texas on Saturday.

Baseball and softball had six games scheduled between Friday and March 28. Whether those games will be rescheduled will be announced at a later date.
