Another week, another undefeated run through the non-conference slate for the Northwest Florida State basketball programs.
The 15th-ranked NWF State women improved to 10-0 after routing Florida State College of Jacksonville 93-33 on Friday and then Eastern Florida State College in a 70-52 victory on Saturday.
The second-ranked NWF State men improved to 12-0 with Friday's 99-93 win over Harford and then Saturday's 90-72 victory over host Monroe College, where the Raiders went 3-0 in the Big Apple.
Against Harford (4-4), the Raiders had five players score in double figures and outscored their foes 12-6 in overtime. Andres Feliz had 17 points, Derek Funderburk had a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double and Braxton Bertolette added 14 points. Kelvin Robinson chipped in 12 points, six rebounds and six assists and Tray Boyd III delivered 11 points and five assists.
Against Monroe (6-4), the Raiders had four players score in double figures as Feliz narrowly missed a triple-double. The sophomore point guard put up 22 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists and Tray Boyd had 19 points and hit five 3-pointers. Karim Ezzedine added 18 points and Jonas Parker chipped in 12 points.
For the women, Trinity Baptiste's 20 points and 11 rebounds paced the win over Florida State College of Jacksonville. Fanny Paulin added 16 points, Georgia Gayle scored 13 and Awa Trasi added 11. Angela Jernigan chipped in eight assists, five rebounds and four steals.
Against Eastern Florida State College, Jernigan dropped a team-high 22 points to accent seven rebounds and four steals. Ashlee Lee added 16 points, eight rebounds and three steals and Trasi chipped in 13 points. Georgia Gayle had five assists and five rebounds, and Baptiste had eight points and five rebounds.
